Hello, I’m Aine Kirwan and I’m here to talk to you about how the Town is much better than the countryside! My first point is that shops and other facilities will be right outside your door. Do you really think it’s worth driving all the way into town wasting petrol / diesel just to get something in the shop? Another point is that the countryside may be peaceful but you can not see your friends as much as you can in the town! A friend of mine says that the countryside is better because the beautiful pictures views and no polluted air but there are many amazing historical buildings in many towns and there are not that many sites in the countryside. Would you really let a little bit of polluted air stop you from coming to the most beautiful place on earth? So please consider changing to the town where you will have an amazing quality life!! Hi. I am here to convince you to move to the to the country, theres heaps of reasons, fresh air, space,no pollution. One of the main reasons is its so much safer than the town. Nearly no robberies, where in the town getting robbed is nearly usual i would say. Another reason is [animals] you can have loads , hens, dogs, cows, pigs so many pets. And theres loads of space so you dont have to worry about where to put them. Another massive thing is noise, yes there is tractors, but in the town theres cars, buses, tractors and so much beeping. Wheres in the country its way more peaceful. My last and final point is fresh air. Theres no smoke, no pollution and the air is much much cleaner. In the city theres all those horrible smells, well not in the countryside. So why dont you move to the countryside? Its safer cleaner and its just amazing !everyone should live there. Hello everyone, my name is Róisín Dempsey. I am here today to convince you that living in the city is great. Firstly there are lots of things to do. You could join lots of local clubs, use the public swimming pool or watch a movie in the cinema. They are only some of the many things that may interest you. Also, there are emergency services in the city which is a great benefit. The Gardaí and Fire Station are just a phone call away, so if anything ever goes wrong, theres no need to worry. I would also like to point out that you may even help the environment by living in the city because by being so close to everything means that there would be no need to travel everywhere by car, you could walk or cycle to local amenities which means that you are getting plenty of exercise while doing the earth a favour. I would like to finish off by asking you to put my points into thought. So the choice is yours, which will you choose…..the country side or the city? Thank you. |
THE COUNTRYSIDE IS BETTER THAN THE TOWN I am speaking to you today because the beautiful countryside is better than the dirty town. It really is that simple. Of course some people will disagree with me on what on what I’m saying. Those strange people will exclaim, “Of course the town is better!” and then be asked why and explain “Your so close to things and there’s benefits like the cinema.” Now, my first point. The countryside is clean and quiet. Why make people pick up your rubbish like in the town. There’s less than 1% of the rubbish in the clean countryside than in the ugly town. Surely everyone loves a bit of quiet. Some people will disagree with me but usually those people do. My next point is walking and doing exercise in peace. Obviously you can walk in the town but you don’t get the peace and tranquillity of the lovely countryside. Why walk in the noisy, dirty town? And finally, the wonderful countryside is the safest place in the world. What are the chances of being robbed or kidnapped in countryside? Thank you for listening and I hope you agree with me I am Orla O’Keeffe and I am here to convince you that the city is the best place to live. By living in the city you are much closer to local amenities and this makes you active. I know that you are going to say that you’ve got more space for activities. But what are those activities? There is so much more in the city, such as bowling, swimming, hockey, G.A.A. and so much more that I’d be wasting your time telling you. What would happen if you had an accident and you had to be rushed to hospital? You’d be driving for so long that your condition would deteriorate. While if you lived in the city it’s only a two minute journey! Now surely everyone knows that walking is the best way to get to your destination because there are no fumes from an engine involved! By walking you help the environment and you will become fit. You are a walking distance to schools as well so you will never be late! Just consider it an easy going life with no hassle of rushing to drive anywhere when you’ve got all you need right on your doorstep. Now, what have you got to say? ... Tom Buckley - Level 1
